Art
The art curriculum for District 86 strives to develop our students' interests and abilities as consumers, hobbyists or professional career artists. Though the majority of our art courses are studio oriented and concentrate on the production of art, one of our primary goals is to enable our students to understand, enjoy and critique not only their own creations, but also the great art masterpieces of the past and present. We utilize visuals such as prints, digital images, videos and actual work, as well as field trips and technology, to stimulate an appreciation of great art and demonstrate the proper and most effective techniques and processes.
