Hinsdale Central High School is committed to the philosophy that every student should attend all of his or her classes every day.  Regular attendance and promptness are expected in all classes and are essential for good performance.  Each student should be aware that attendance is part of his or her evaluation in each class and should understand that excessive absences drastically affect the class grade and may result in loss of class credit.  Hinsdale Central High School does not condone “ditch days.”  We encourage parents to support all attendance policies.

Hinsdale Central must enforce the state of Illinois law regarding compulsory school attendance.  The law is specific that the parent has the obligation to see that his or her child is in regular attendance.  In order to comply with Illinois School Code, the school reserves the right to determine if an absence is a truancy

The attendance system for Hinsdale Central is divided into the categories along the left of this window.
