Researching An Author's Identity:
STEP 1: On the library home page, select Gale
Literary Databases.
- Click on Contemporary Literary Criticism and Select.
On the next screen, click on Search All Literature Databases.
On the author search line, type the full name of your author and click
on search.
STEP 2: On the library home page, select Novelist.
- Click on FOR READERS. Search under Book
Discussion Guides, Adult Level. Search under Book
Discussion Guides, Young Adult Level.
STEP 3: Use these two reference books.
- R/809/Aut Authors & Artists for Young Adults.
There are
23 volumes. Look up your author in the cumulative index in Volume
23.
- R/809/Bea Beachams Guide to Literature for Young Adults.
There are 16 volumes. Look up your author in the cumulative index
in Volume 16.
STEP 4: Go to this web site and search for information on your
author.
In addition, on this web site, click on Online Literary
Criticism Guide for links to other web sites.
STEP 5: Using an Internet search engine, look for a web page
for your author.
- Not all authors will have web pages.
