Ask a Librarian
Have a question? Save time and ask us for assistance! We can
help you in person or online.
Send an E-mail
Contact one of the librarians at hchsrefdesk
@hinsdale86.org to get more information about library services,
text or online resources, or if you need help with a research/reference
question. Librarians check email frequently to provide an easy,
efficient way to support students and teachers at Hinsdale Central
when a personal visit is not possible.
Schedule a Research Consultation
If you have a problem finding appropriate resources for a specific
assignment or you need help in creating a multimedia presentation,
use the email address to make an appointment. Librarians are
available all day to work with you. Although most students have
access to the library during lunch or study hall periods, you
might want to make an appointment for help before or after school.
We will gather materials and have them available for you when
you come to the library.
Assistance by Phone
If you are absent from school, you can call the library if
you need help with a research assignment. We can help you with
database passwords and suggest online resources. Please check
the library hours on the
Information page before you call. Dialing 630-570-8411 will
connect you to Mrs. DePetro, our library office manager.
Make a Recommendation
The library staff is interested in your recommendations. If there
is a book or resource that you feel would be of value to you and
other students, please let us know. We can also assist with Interlibrary
Loan when a book is needed right away. We provide a link to the
Metropolitan Library System where you can search for books from
all Chicago suburban libraries. Mr. Laffey is our MLS representative.
Please allow one week for delivery.
