Starting a Club
Weekly Calendar

1.   Students interested in starting a new club should contact the Director of Student Activities in Room 233.  Be prepared to:  a) develop a written statement of purpose, and b) show how the proposed club will be consistent with the philosophy and mission of Hinsdale Central, and will make a contribution to the education and well being of our student population.  Other items to be considered will be:  frequency of meetings, potential sponsor(s), anticipated membership, special needs or facilities and a list of typical club activities.

2.   Schedule a meeting with the Student Council Committee on Activities.  This may be done through the Activity Director’s office.  The Student Council Committee will consist of the President, Vice President, and one Senator from one of the four classes.  At this meeting, students proposing the club should be able to provide all of the information called for in section one.

3.   Upon tentative approval by the Committee on Activities, students proposing the club should collect 100 student signatures on the Club Petition Form and complete a model constitution.

4.   Students should meet again with the Committee on Activities for final consideration of the club proposal.

5.   The Committee on Activities will make its recommendation to the administration through the Activities Director who will either approve, disapprove or modify the club application.
