|
Membership in the National Honor Society is an honor bestowed by the school upon students who qualify, not only academically, but who have also provided service to the school, exhibited leadership in the school, and have displayed character that is commended by all. To achieve membership status, students participate in a rigorous selection process which involves the entire Hinsdale Central High School faculty as well as the National Honor Society Faculty Council. Selection is determined by a majority vote of the Faculty Council using as its guide a numerical ranking which represents the average of the following criteria:
The eligible candidate must complete the following: 1.
Return the self-addressed stamped reply card
that was mailed home by Friday, November 16,
2007. 3.
Compose
a one page, typed, double spaced essay responding to
the following question: The essay should be returned to Mrs. Kalafut in room 233 or Mrs. Fernandez's mailbox in room 185 no later than March 14. Return all the required documents by the indicated deadlines and turn them in to Ms. Wanda Swik in the Athletic Office. Forms received after the deadline or without appropriate sponsor verification signatures will remove your son/daughter from further consideration for selection to the National Honor Society. The faculty ballot will comprise 60% of the composite score and the “Student Information Form and Leadership Essay” 40%. Questions? Contact: Pam Kalafut or Mary Kay Doyle
