Is your student having trouble with a homework assignment?
Does your child need help prior to taking a test or quiz?
In other words . . .
HOW CAN YOUR CHILD GET ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE WHEN NOT IN CLASS?
Teachers are available throughout the day in order to provide academic assistance for students seeking to maximize their potential. Students in all grades and of all ability levels are encouraged to take full responsibility for their learning and to advocate for themselves when they need assistance.
BEFORE OR AFTER SCHOOL, students should seek out their classroom teachers. Have your child ask his/her teachers where they can be found during these times.
DURING THE SCHOOL DAY, suggest that your student contact the teacher to see when they are free during the day. Students can, also, go to the specific department and ask for help from the Department Chair. Schedules are posted in all study halls, in the Academic Center, in the cafeteria, and in the hallway by the cafeteria. Encourage your student to ask for a pass during study hall when he/she discovers a need for academic help.
WHILE AT HOME, suggest that your student go to his/her teachers’ Share Point Site/WebPages for clarification on assignments and for supplemental materials.
